doing real work (sort of)

because it's the easy (brainless) assignment i start with... of course. home-made lightbox courtesy of my roommate's ikea glasses.

and what i learnt in class today:
  • command+click on the channels in photoshop selects all the light areas in the image for you.
  • shift+backspace to change layer colour
  • alt+backspace to change selection to layer foreground colour
  • control+backspace to change selection to layer background colour

eating at home

but because i have not the substance i photoshop and crop.

goodbye to these

gelato!

finally found the much-recommended (by the seniors) gelateria.
it's GOOD~
a grande cone with 3 uber-rich flavours (dark chocolate, hazelnut, tiramisu) might have been a bit ambitious though. next time i'll mix my flavours carefully :)

food.. again :]

lunch:

dessert:

yeah there was a pic of me eating the cone but i looked too much of a glutton (with the ugly hat on too) so..

and dinner!
(ok so it's a bit of a let down after those 2. but home cooked!)

potatoes topped with cheese.. my bro and i used to make them long long ago... when our first toaster oven was still working i think.

tetrapak wine!

cup for scale.. it costs about as much as normal packed juice? in singapore..

benvenuti in italia

went for the welcome day (and dinner too!) today and they showed this video. it's so funny.. because it's so true.. met a lot of foreign students today and everybody was like 'ah yes! this is italy!' :]

http://dailymotion.virgilio.it/video/x1bfh5_bruno-bozzetto-europe-and-italy_fun

we experienced it first-hand when going for dinner...

time on invitation: 18 30
time we arrived: 19 00
time they told us they would open: 20 00
time we returned: 20 15
time we got in: 20 40

and there you have lesson#2 of living in italy - dinner starts at 9pm. but it was free food! and a good networking opportunity...
